We are looking for beta testers for our new VST Plugin which is designed to help MIDI guitarists work with softsynths.

The beta programme is open to existing Gtak/Gtak4 customers only. If you are interested in participating please email beta { a t } e v e n h a r m o n i c { d o t } c o m giving your Guitar to MIDI converter model (Axon AX100, Roland VG99 etc), OS (Windows XPSP3, Mac OS 10.5 etc), your main sequencer, the main softsyths you have and any previous beta testing experience.

Places will be limited and we need to choose people to cover as many different configurations as possible, so don't be offended if we can't use you! Beta testers who send in useful reports will get a free licence for the plugin.

Also, if you are thinking of buying Gtak4 in the near future and live in the EU now would be a good time to do it, as we will soon have to start charging 21% VAT to all EU customers!

We're pleased to announce Gtak4, an update of Gtak for Native
Instrument's recently released Kontakt4, it's been out a couple of
weeks now, but now we've finally got the website updated and the new
demo videos done...

We're even more pleased to announce that Gtak4 is a free upgrade
for all registered Gtak users! Just log into your account and you
will find Gtak4 there for download*.

** Kontakt 3.5 beta **

The Kontakt 3.5 beta is now publicly available. We have tried it
with Gtak and have not found any problems. However, Native Instruments
have made some small tweaks to the library so we will be releasing
a new version of Gtak based on the 3.5 library once the final version
is released.

** Review in Electronic Musician **

In case you missed it, Gtak was reviewed in Electronic Musician,
and got 5 out of 5!

** Call for Bass Players **

We're thinking of doing a version of Gtak tailored for Bass players.
If you have any suggestions, get in touch using forum or the contact
form on evenharmonic.com .

** New Gtak custom download option **

You can now change the base MIDI channel for Gtak custom downloads, so
if you need your guitar to MIDI converter set for some channel
other than 1 you can now have that channel preset in all the
Gtak Library instruments.

Gtak 1.0.2 is now available. This release fixes crashes in some sequencers (Ableton Live and Cubase) on OSX. Windows users and users of other sequencers should also upgrade to be on the safe side!

Our new Midipicks Forum for all Guitar to MIDI converter users is also now open. Find it at http://evenharmonic.com/midipicks .

We also now have a demo version of Gtak available. This works with the demo version of Kontakt3, so anyone with a Guitar to MIDI converter, computer and soundcard can try the system.

Gtak 1.0.1 has been released. Existing customers can get it now from the download page:

There is only one change, in Pedal Hold/Sustain mode all sustaining
notes used to be stopped when you went from Hold to Sustain. Now
the notes keep sustaining. This is useful if you program up different
drum machines on different strings like I did in the Pedalboard Video.
So, now you can easily press the pedal and play a note to change
patterns on one the drum machine's while the others keep playing.

It also works well with sustained string sounds and also arpeggiators.

To stop all sustaining notes simply press the pedal briefly and
release it without playing any notes while the pedal is down.
